Field Description - Registration Credit

The Registration Credit is the dollar amount of any credit amount applied against the registration fee.  The Registration Credit is optional unless a credit amount needs to be applied.

Below are the types of registration credits:

a.  A Commercial Tractor registrant, Class Code TT, is eligible for a $40 registration credit if all the following conditions apply:

1.  Plate number is in the 800-000 series.

2.  Registered weight exceeds 23,000 lbs.

3.  Vehicle is used in a "Tractor-Semi-Trailer" configuration for the entire registration year.

b.  Registrants are entitled to apply the unused portion of the registration fees (Transfer Fee Amount) from a vehicle no longer owned by the registrant toward a partial year registration of a new vehicle during a transfer.  For more information, see New Registration Wizard - Enter The Transfer Vehicle Identification Step.

c.  Monetary corrections are made during the year.  Credit for previous payments are recorded in the Credit box.  This typically occurs when a registrant turns in a regular plate for a Conservation or University plate mid-year.
