Field Description - Program Record Password
The Program Record Password is the secret string of characters assigned by the system administrator and is used to authenticate the operator when they attempt to access the program. Passwords are used to prevent unauthorized access to programs and functions and thus ensure data security. The Program Record Password is a separate password from the operator password. The Program Record Password is one password that controls access to the specific program; each person who is authorized to access the program will enter the same password. Whereas, an operator password is used to authenticate the operator when they attempt to signon on the programs within a security set; the operator will use the same password for each program they are authorized to use.
Notes:
The password is case sensitive.
The Program Record password is a separate password from the operator password and has a separate function. You should maintain a unique password for each type of password.
Password Guidelines:
Use Good Passwords - Don't use persons, places or things that can be easily identified or that easily identify you.
Don't Disclose Your Password - to anyone.
Change Your Password Frequently - to minimize the risk of someone learning or acquiring it.
Never Leave An Active Terminal Unattended - Always log off or lock your terminal before leaving it.
