Field Description - Vehicle Previous Title Number

The Vehicle Previous Title Number identifies the prior title information for the vehicle.  

Notes:  

• The Previous Title Number is mandatory for all new registration transactions including transfers, dealer sales and for all used vehicles that are 1995 model year or newer, except Excise Tax Only and Excise Tax Only-IRP or other exempt vehicles, transactions, which must be left blank.  

• The Previous Title Number and the Previous Title State print on the PT line at the bottom center of the registration form.
