The Fuel Type Code is the key field that uniquely identifies the type of fuel the vehicle uses.

Notes:

• The Fuel Type Code is mandatory for all motor-powered vehicles.

• Current Fuel Types include:

• A - Alcohol

• B - Battery/Electric Vehicle

• C - Compressed Natural Gas

• D - Diesel

• E - Ethanol 85

• F - Fuel Cell

• G - Gasoline

• H - Hybrid/Electric

• P - Propane
