System Security Overview

You can build a security system to control access to menus, programs and functions within your module.  This is an optional feature within the module.  Once installed, a security system prevents unauthorized access to secured programs because each user must first sign on to have access to their respective functions.

There are two levels of security available.  One is a simple form that only requires passwords for the specific programs you wish to protect.  The second level of security is called system security and is a more stringent security system that restricts access by operator number or user.  You can activate one or both levels of security to protect the integrity of the data in your system.  Each level of security is described below.

Types of Security

Program-level Passwords

Individual program passwords limit access to the program or function to those users who know the proper password.

Module-level Security

You can install more stringent security to restrict program access by operator number.  With this type of security the operator must be authorized to use the particular program and to gain access to the program must signon by entering a password.
