The Policy Holder Effective Date is the date the insurance policy goes into effect and coverage begins.
Notes:
Some insurance carriers provide Effective Dates, while others do not.
You can view and maintain the Policy Holder Effective Date during Patient Entry at the Insurance Window.
The Policy Holder's Effective Date must be earlier than their Termination Date.
During Charge Entry, patient charges can not be entered if the service date is beyond the Policy Holder's Effective Date and Termination Date. If the service date is outside the range of the Effective and Termination Dates, the following message alerts you on the Status Bar:
