The Insurance Force a Statement field controls what is printed on 2-column patient statements. 2-column patient statements have a column for insurance charges and a column for private (patient) charges.
Tips:
To determine the type of patient statement used:
2-column patient statement: prints a patient column and an insurance column on the right-hand side.
1-column patient statement: prints a balance column only on the right-hand side of the statement.
If you want to omit an insurance's charges, such as Medicare charges from patient statements, set this field to N(o).
Notes:
Do not confuse Insurance Force a Statement with Force a Statement during the Commit phase of Charge Entry. They have 2 separate functions.
If you print 1-column patient statements, Force a Statement does not affect how patient statements print.
If you print 2-column patient statements, Force a Statement field can be set to do the following:
If you want to print a patient statement for insurance-only charges, even if the patient balance is zero, set this field to Y(es).
If you want to omit insurance-only charges from patient statements, set this field to N(o).
Format: 1 character, Y or N
