Search Code Key
The Search Code Key is used to build each voter's search code. The voter's search code allows you to search alphabetically for voters. This is helpful if you do not know the voter's Voter ID. Use this maintenance to determine the number of letters from the voter's last name, first name and middle initial to include when creating their search code.
Ways to create the Search Code Key:
Use first 6 letters of the last name, followed by the first 4 letters of the first name and no middle initial
Or, use the first 5 letters of the last name, first 4 letters of the first name followed by the middle initial
From the Menu Bar click File
Maintenance, and next click Search
Code Key.
Keyboard Shortcut:
[ALT]
[m] [r]

NOTE: The total number of search characters can not exceed 10.
Search Key Code Entries | |
Last Name |
Enter the number of letters from the voter's last name to include in the voter search code (2.0). |
First Name |
Enter the number of letters from the voter's first name to include in the voter search code (2.0). |
Initial |
Enter the number of letters from the voter's middle initial to include in the voter search code (1.0). |
Total Characters |
Displays the total number of characters used to build the search code based on your entries above. NOTE: This may not exceed 10 characters. |
