The Property ID is made up of four sub-fields: Map Number, Lot, Sub (subdivision), and Type. When creating new Tax Accounts, Property ID is required if the Account Type specifies Real Estate or Supplemental. If the Account Type is for Personal Property, the Property ID defaults to 000 000 000 000.
Notes:
Because you can tailor the sub-field names in the PARCEL Table, the labels in the software may not match the field names in the documentation.
When properties change ownership, it is possible to end up with more than one Tax Account associated with a single Property ID.
When entering the Map/Lot/Sub/Type, it must form a valid Property ID from the Real Estate Master record (Assessing module). If you enter an invalid combination, you will see a warning and you must correct the Property ID.
Where-Used: Usually, the Assessing module assigns the property ID to an account. However, during Tax Master Maintenance, you can enter the Property ID at the Property ID Tab. You can also enter Property ID during Real Estate Lien Maintenance at the Property Information Tab. Property ID prints on several reports.
Format: Each municipality determines the meaning of the combination of fields. Only map number is required by the system.
