Tips:
You must set up this tax table if you facility is located in Michigan. If your facility is not located in Michigan, you must set up this tax table if you have any employees located in Michigan.
Normally, you must update the tax tables with applicable rate changes once each year - after generating W2s and before running the first payroll of the calendar year.

Click Payroll from the Menu Bar.
Click Miscellaneous File Maintenance.
Click Table FM.
Click Numeric Tables.
Click
State Withholding Tax.

The
tax table for your facility's State Code displays.
Tip: If
your facility is not in Michigan, click 8
- Michigan in the drop-down list.

Note: The tax limits and rates depicted in the following table are only an example. Actual tax withholding information is published annually.
Creating a new state tax table, click More.
Note: You can not create any new state tax tables. The necessary tables are created during the software installation and updates. To maintain the tax tables, see the instructions for editing later in this topic.
Editing the Michigan state tax table, click More.
CAUTION: To
avoid losing data, you must save changed records.
To display the record to be changed, simply open State Withholding Tax Table Maintenance - Michigan. The record automatically displays.
To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.
Enter the data changes.
To
complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

Enter the Table Title, which is an abbreviated name for the table. (up to 14 characters) | |
Enter the Table Description, which is the full name of the table. (up to 79 characters) | |
Enter the State Dependent Allowance (Exemption) amount. (6.2 numeric) | |
Enter the State Tax Rate. (6.2 numeric) Tip: If the rate is 3.9%, enter 3.90. Tax Calculation

is inactive (dimmed) when you display a tax table that is not for your
facility's state. To
display a tax table for a different state, first click Close

Deleting an existing state tax table, click More.
Note: To maintain data integrity, you can not delete any state tax tables.
