Field Description - Deduction Type
The Deduction Type categorizes deductions associated with a specific Deduction Code. The following Deduction Types are available:
1 - Scheduled
2 - Matched Annuity Benefit
Tip: The amount for this deduction appears during Check Entry on the check stub for reference and on the Check Register - Employee Annuity Report. The amount is not deducted from the employee's gross pay. If it is not tax exempt, the deduction amount is included in the gross pay for calculating taxes. 3 - Union Deduction
4 - Other Deduction
5 - Annuity Deduction
Tip: The YTD total appears in the Annuities YTD box on the check stub. For more information, see the Understanding Matching Annuities topic.
6 - Direct Deposit
Note: The amount appears on the Check Register - Bank Deposit Report.
Important: If you change the Deduction Type for a Deduction Code during Deduction Master Maintenance, the program automatically updates all associated Employee Deduction records with the new type.
