Vendor Type Maintenance

Use Vendor Type Maintenance to maintain classifications for the different types of vendors that sell inventory items.  For example, a supplier may differ from a manufacturer in terms of item availability, delivery options or item price.  Vendor Types allow you to group vendors and are assigned to vendors during Vendor Master Maintenance.

To see directions for...

• Opening Vendor Type Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Vendor Type Maintenance.

• Creating a New Vendor Type, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To create a new record, click New .
  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Vendor Type, New!  displays near the Vendor Type.

  2.  Enter the new Vendor Type.  (up to 25 characters)

  3.  Click Save .  The Vendor Type is added to the list of Vendor Types that displays below the Vendor Type field.

   

• Editing an Existing Vendor Type, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, double-click on the desired Vendor Type displayed in the list.  

  2.  The Vendor Type displays in the Edit Box.

  2.  Enter the new name of the Vendor Type. (up to 25 characters)

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save .  

  5.  After clicking Save, the edited Vendor Type displays in the Vendor Type list.

   

• Deleting an Existing Vendor Type, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, double-click the Vendor Type displayed in the list of Vendor Types.

  2.  Click Delete .  The following confirmation window displays.

   

  

   

  3.  Click Yes to delete the record, or click No to cancel the delete routine.

  4.  After clicking Yes for delete, the Vendor Type field is cleared, the New!  icon displays and the cursor is positioned for the next entry.
