Payment Post Parameters Maintenance

Use Payment Post Parameters Maintenance to control certain functions during the Cash Receipts Post.

CAUTION

Generally, the Payment Post Parameters are set prior to installation.  Once this information is set, you do not need to change it under normal operating conditions.

After making changes to Payment Post Parameters, exit from the Utility Billing before the changes will become available.
 

 

Directions:

To open:

1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu.

2.  Click File Maintenance.

3.  Click Table Maintenance.

4.  Click Payment Tables.

5.  Click Payment Post Parameters.

Payment Post Parameters Maintenance Prompts

To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER].

Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed information.

The Search function is not available during Payment Post Parameters Maintenance.

To display the Payment Post Parameters,click Retrieve or press [ENTER].  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

Title

Enter Cash Post for the title. (up to 14 character)

Description

Enter Payment Post Parameter Table as the description. (up to 78 characters)

Parameters

Apply to Previous Finance Charge First

To have payments applied to the oldest Finance Charges amounts, then to newer Finance Charges, and then to the charges, click Yes.

To have payments applied to the newest Finance Charge amounts, then to the charges, click No.

Note:  This pertains to cash entered without specific aging applied or if the Transaction Code's Aging is set to default.

Allow Partial Cash Post

To activate the Partial Cash Post options of the Cash Receipts Post, click Yes in the drop-down list.  

To omit the Partial Cash Post options of the Cash Receipts Post, click No in the drop-down list.

Notes:  

  • NDS recommends that you set Allow Partial Cash Post to No to centralize your cash management.

  • If Allow Partial Cash Post is set to Yes, additional prompts display during the Cash Receipts Post window.

Accumulate Customer Payment Transactions

To accumulate payments if the payment date is after the last billing posting date, otherwise replace the last payment amount, click Yes in the drop-down list.

To accumulate payments only if the last payment date is the same as the date of the posting payment, otherwise replace the last payment amount, click No in the drop-down list.

Note:  Generally, NDS recommends that you set Accumulate Customer Payment Transactions to Yes.

Update to Fund Accounting System

To allow the Cash Receipts Post to update the Fund Accounting System, click Yes in the drop-down list.

To prevent the Cash Receipts Post from updating the Fund Accounting System, click No in the drop-down list.

Update to General Ledger System

To allow the Cash Receipts Post to update the General Ledger System, click Yes in the drop-down list.

To prevent the Cash Receipts Post from updating the General Ledger System, click No in the drop-down list.

Break Report on Service

To advance the paper to a new page when the report lists a new service, click Yes in the drop-down list.

To continue printing on the same page when the report lists a new service, click No.

Cash GL Account

Enter the General Ledger Account Number assigned to your Cash account.  

Note:  The GL Number is used during Cash Receipts Post to create GL journal entries.

Editing Payment Post Options

CAUTION:  To avoid losing information, you must save new or changed information.

1.  Position the pointer to the information that you want to change

2.  Enter the changes.

3.  To complete the edit process, press [ENTER] or click Save .  Keyboard shortcut:  [s]

Deleting Payment Post Options

NOTE:  Delete is not available for Payment Post Parameters Maintenance.
